A REFLECTION ON LIFE, ART AND LOVE
Shot in the Salar de Uyuni, a unique environment in the world, «Kachi. Closer to Heaven» is the first in a series of short documentaries where inspiration is the common thread to reflect on life, art and love.
And, if it is a matter of reflection, the Salar de Uyuni is presented as a mirror where our soul turns into words the emotions that arise as a consequence, or perhaps as an engine, of artistic inspiration.
JUNIOR LUZ, PHOTOGRAPHER OF EMOTIONS
The Brazilian photographer is our guide on this journey through the feelings that arise from his artistic work. His words, sincere and born from the heart, bare his soul, evoke memories and highlight the importance of honoring and protecting that miracle of nature that is the Salar de Uyuni.
SAMUEL VELA, ONEIRIC FILMMAKER
Creativity and love, reflected in the Salar de Uyuni, evoke the experience of being in heaven. Because being in the Salar de Uyuni IS being in Heaven*.
Bolivian filmmaker Samuel Vela, based in Spain, manages to make us fly, even literally, with Junior Luz, capturing all the nuances of the light reflected in the salt throughout the day. His dreamlike and aspirational look is a declaration of love to the salt flats and to Bolivia.
*In Spanish, «sky» and «Heaven» use the same word («cielo»)
